Mercenaries
The man they called Roshi charged into the hellfire raining down from the enemy outpost on the hill, with his heavy armor getting heavier with every bullet that landed in his dropsuit. He responded hastily with return fire from his Heavy Machine Gun, throwing one thousand rounds a minute of burning lead slugs up the hill. Forcing the enemy mercenaries to retreat over the crest of the hill.

With that Roshi and his men crested the top of the hill guns blazing. Firing piercing rounds into the backs of the enemies heads (headshots ring out). All but two who managed to whip around the corner into the city?

Dook and Lady charged in after the stragglers.
Roshi called after them. GÇ£Wait! Stay in formation those two were too fast to be just normal infantry GÇ£

Roshi stumbled out of his bed and into his Dropsuit access machine. Yawning as the machine assembled his armor and fitted it to his body. As the machine was cooling down he lurched out of the machine. Walking toward the door grabbing his HMG on the way outGÇ¥.
Lady chirped over his Neocom again

Roshi felt his consciousness leaving his body as his physical body was dematerialized and converted to biomass. He felt death creeping in on him as if he was actually dying. Hell he was dying. But he was not afraid.
The next instant he was aboard the Warbarge along his fellow warriors. In a new body millions of miles away from his ramshackle apartment.

The squad advanced into the city walking slow to stay aware. The buildings were tall and plain with few small windows. All the buildings seemed inaccessible minus a few small ones alongside the street.
A shadow danced across the road.

GÇ£I donGÇÖt know Dook, but I have a feeling we will find outGÇ¥.
There was a second of silence before lady cried out in pain

The shadow skirted away towards an alley
GÇ£Hell NOGÇ¥ Roshi said catching a glimpse of it. Lifted his HMG and unleashed fury.
There was a shimmer of light and a single drop of blood on the asphalt and it was gone.
GÇ£Get himGÇ¥ Roshi screamed. His bloodlust fueling his rage pushing him toward revenge.
The squad lost formation and bum rushed the alley.
Roshi being the slowest due to his heavy armor rounded the corner to see his comrades lying on the concrete bathed in blood. Dook with his skull opened clear up by sniper fire. Lady chest gaping from a shot of plasma.
Then Roshi saw it the glint of the scope now twenty meters away down the alley.
(He is in range)Roshi thought to himself.
Then the shimmer in the air. He raised his HMG sights fixed on the sniper. And as his sights fell on the sniper, he shot one to RoshiGÇÖs head.
But Roshi wasnGÇÖt finished yet. Roshi brought his sights back to his opponent.
He felt the hot searing plasma from a shotgun, Peirce his ribs.
Roshi fell to his knees.
Glanced up at the alien sky.
The plasma blasted through his face, and he could feel the searing pain as it ripped through his skull.
He then fell to the ground atop his comrades.
Just another casualty in another war.
RESPAWN in.
